Are you looking for books for your toddler for Easter, a birthday, or just for a new read? The Dollar Tree has a lot of great options for toddlers that will help keep you in your budget! What are your favorite Dollar Tree Books for Toddlers?
I’m a mom and a teacher with a desire to get your toddlers “reading”. That means offering books throughout the day and week to help provide exposure to text, new vocabulary and learn more about their interests (or discover new ones).

What are some of your favorite ways to find toddler books on a budget? Let me know in the comment section below!
Looking at books in the Dollar Tree can get overwhelming. Especially if their books are a bit scattered or unorganized. One thing I suggest if you get overwhelmed easily is to look at their books on their website before heading into their store.
This will give you a great idea of what you might be able to find before heading into the store. For example in the picture below you can see where I typed in “board books” into the search and the top options were books about nursery rhymes, Bible stories, and Sesame Street books. As I continued to scroll on the page they also offered board books about Frozen.

Let’s discuss some other Dollar Tree books you’ll find that are great for toddlers.
In this article you’ll learn about the best Dollar Tree books for toddlers.
Lift the Flap Board Books
I found these great books around Christmas time for my 1 year old! They are a hit!
He regularly asks to read “the pizza” and “four seasons” books. We talk about the pictures, read the story, and of course his favorite “lift the flaps”.
I will say they are not the best books quality wise our pizza book has seen better days. But for a dollar, he’s more than gotten his use out of them.
I would definitely purchase them and regift them again! Last time I was in the Dollar Tree they had lift the flap board books about manners and being kind.
Board Books
Right along with the last one, their board books are great! They feature different characters including: seaseme street, bible characters, Disney and Nickelodeon.
My boys were gifted an alphabet book from Dollar Tree and it has been a favorite with both of my boys. Dollar Tree also offers board books about colors, shapes, animals, and counting books.
Easy Readers
Easy readers are designed for beginner readers. They usually have simple words, with a basic story, and are loaded with lots of high-frequency words.
The Dollar Tree sells them with a variety of different characters including Olivia, Peanuts, P.J. Masks, Transformers, and more. I like these books because they grab the attention of toddlers with the characters and grow with them as they get older.
Nursery Rhyme Books
I found a bunch of nursery rhyme books for my toddler about a year ago. There are coloring books with stickers of the nursery rhymes.
To say he loved them was an understatement! I loved them because nursery rhymes are wonderful for toddlers and preschoolers. The rhymes within the stories help promote phonemic awareness.
Check out the article below if you are looking for more information on phonemic awareness:

He enjoyed the idea that I would let him color in his books, they had stickers, and we could read them like any of his other books.
I have also been successful at finding a lot of nursery rhymes and classic fairytale stories at the Dollar Tree. Different versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, and more.
National Geographic for Kids
I love Dollar Tree for their collection of non-fiction books for kids. Their selection of non-fiction books typically includes books from National Geographic Kids. Right now I found some National Geographic flashcards on their website.
I also found this collection of 6 “Learning to Read Books” about different animals and places around the world.
While the reading will be advanced for toddlers they will love to look at the pictures and discuss different animals. They are also great books to help them “grow into” as they learn more about different topics.

Coloring Books
If you are looking for coloring books for any age, the Dollar Tree is a great place to go first.
I love their collection of activity and character coloring books that are great for toddlers and children. Their teacher section is full of children’s and preschool workbooks. They also have adult crossword and coloring books.
You can find pens, pencils, crayons, and markers at the dollar tree but I recommend picking these items up around back to school time in July and August for a better price and selection.
Bath Books
Both of my kids love the bath books at Dollar Tree! They seem to regularly carry them and they are listed on the website. I usually find them in the baby department. We like to tuck them into their stockings at Christmas or Easter baskets in the spring.

We love to take them to the pool in the summer as well. I like them because they offer a simple story. Anytime I can expose our children to text throughout the day is a win for both of us!
Conclusion
Dollar Tree offers a variety of books for toddlers. Hopefully, this helps you see that you can provide options of different books throughout your home without spending much money.
I hope you found some great options for the next time you check out your nearest Dollar Tree. Please let me know what book you are going to look for first when you check out Dollar Tree next time you go.
